Project Overview

In September 2011 Lucion took over an industry competitor, AOH Limited, which had been taken into administration. As a result we took on 30 members of staff and two new offices. We have managed to maintain 100% of the AOH client base, including Leicester City Council.

After taking over the delivery of their existing contract, we successfully tendered for the council’s latest contract in 2012, a four year asbestos consultancy contract. We have utilised staff members who were well experienced in working with Leicester City Council to this contract and encouraged the sharing of knowledge and previous asbestos management experiences at the Council with additional Lucion site staff.

The services provided to the council include management, pre-refurbishment and demolition asbestos surveys, air monitoring, bulk ID sample analysis and asbestos management.

We have appointed a dedicated project manager for the contract who liaises directly with the council on current projects and acts as a single point of contact for all asbestos related information.

With 5 years experience, BOHS P402, P403, P404, P405 and P406 qualifications the dedicated project manager has now worked with the council for over 4 years. Further to this he also attends monthly progress meetings to cover property access problems, high risk materials found and provides a technical summary of progress. We currently have two staff members based full time on the council’s projects which vary from schools to commercial properties.

I personally have dealt with Lucion since 2001, during which time they have provided Leicester City Council with excellent support and knowledge in asbestos analytical works and site surveys. Their experience with working in the public sector is valuable to our needs including work in schools, EPH's and museums. They are also very experienced when dealing with corporate housing stock and dealing with tenants in a professional manner.
