Standing For Sustainability: Lucion Achieve New Rated Supplier CIPS Certification

9th January 2019

Lucion Environmental (part of Lucion Services), has achieved a new certification as a ‘Rated Supplier’ from The Chartered Institute Of Procurement And Supply (CIPS).

The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) are the world’s largest professional body in procurement and supply. Committed to helping companies raise their standards, CIPS are an awarding body that sets the global standard for procurement and supply. Awards and certifications from CIPS are recognised by regulatory authorities and have named asbestos testing, analysis, and surveying specialists Lucion Environmental as a ‘Rated Supplier’ and feature on the CIPS Sustainability Index.

The Certification Criteria

To achieve a place on The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Sustainability Index (CSI), organisations must successfully complete the independent, cross-sector financial, social and environmental supplier audit. This audit is the only independent and verified tool used to measure supplier sustainability performance. The audit provides buyers with the ability to obtain essential information and criteria for a potential supplier and ultimately reduces procurement risk.

How Is Lucion Environmental A Sustainable Supplier?

As a certified and rated supplier, Lucion has demonstrated organisational sustainability to the industry approved standards giving clients peace of mind and assurance that the services they procure from Lucion meet industry requirements.

Sustainability is measured by CIPS over three core pillars: economic, environmental and social sustainability. Suppliers are scored across all three aspects as a measure of well-rounded sustainability in our business activities.

Lucion considers all three aspects in their sustainability campaign; Take Care Be Aware, resulting in an outstanding score of: Economic – 97%, Environmental – 90%, and Social – 100%.

Lucion Environmental will utilise these scores and the relevant feedback given through the audit by CIPS in order to further develop sustainability focus over the coming year, aiming for 100% scores across the board next year.
